Twinning, friendship agreements and partnerships

To promote exchanges between inhabitants, to develop a real feeling of friendship by better mutual understanding, such are the objectives shared by Annecy and its twin-cities or partners.

Annecy is a European city which made twinning-agreements with:

• Cheltenham in England in 1956 ;

• Bayreuth in Germany in 1966 ;

• Vicenza in Italy in 1995 ;

• and also friendship agreements with Sainte-Thérèse in Québec in 1987 and with Liptovsky Mikulas in 2003 ;

• and a partnership charter with Sassandra (Ivory Coast).
  

The City of Annecy organises language visits, European encounters, school exchanges which allow young people from the four cities to meet and improve their level in a European language.
